Our Commitment to Our Donors: Thrive Networks (TN) will not sell, share or trade our donors’ names or Personal Information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations. This Privacy Policy applies to all information received by TN, both online and offline, on any Services, as well as any electronic, written, or verbal communications. Through your use of the Service, we collect information from you. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use or disclose that information. Please note that by visiting or otherwise using the Service, you are agreeing to the practices described below. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy or how we use or disclose your information, please do not hesitate to email us at info@thrivenetworks.org

2. Information Collected Through this Service

The following types of information are collected through the Service:

Information You Automatically Generate as a Visitor. When you use the Service, certain information may be automatically recorded by different types of technology, including “clear gifs” or “web beacons.” The information collected may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, other device or browser information, the websites you visited just before or just after you visited the Service, the pages you view on the Service, and the dates and times that you visit the Service.

Additionally, when you access the Service, we may send one or more “cookies” – small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters – to your computer. Cookies are stored by your browser and can be used to provide custom, personalized content and information. TN may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the Service. You should be able to disable and delete cookies through your web browser. Please note though that disabling cookies may prevent you from accessing some of the functionality and site offerings of the Service.

Information You Provide (General). Certain portions of the Service allow you to provide information to us, such as by joining our mailing list, emailing us, or registering for our programs or events. The information you provide might include identifiable information about yourself, such as your name, e-mail address, street address, or other information. When you include information regarding your or your organization’s social media accounts, those services may make additional information available to TN. This information will be used and disclosed in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information You Provide as a Donor. When you donate to TN (including by purchasing items through any e-store associated with the Service), you may provide your name, street address, phone number, e-mail, payment information and other relevant information through various forms. This information is collected and processed by third-party payment processing services. Please see the sections below entitled “E-Mail Alerts or Other Communications” and “Donation Processing” for an explanation of how this information is handled.

3. How We Use Information

TN makes limited use of your information with your permission or in the following ways:

General Operations and Analytics. TN uses the information you have provided or that we collect to operate, maintain and improve the Service. This may include compiling aggregate statistics that allow us to understand how our visitors interact with the Service and to make improvements in design and content. Additionally, we may use the information we have collected from the Service, including any content which you voluntarily upload according to our Terms of Service, to analyze or develop TN’s marketing and promotion strategy, to monitor and improve the effectiveness of our fundraising efforts, and to track and promote TN’s progress in achieving its business objectives.

E-mail Alerts or Other Communications. TN may use the information you provide, whether through use of the Service or through donations to TN, in order to communicate with you, including through standard mail, e-mail alerts, newsletters or other forms of communication. Reasons TN may contact you include: for administrative purposes, to provide you with customer service, to provide you with information that might be of interest to you, to respond to various inquiries or comments, for fundraising purposes and to otherwise better serve you. Both donors and regular users may choose to opt-out of any non-administrative notifications by unsubscribing.

4. Information Disclosure

TN is not in the business of selling or renting your information, and we take your privacy very seriously. In the course of operating TN and the Service, we make limited disclosures of your information with your permission or in the following ways:

Donation Processing. Donations are processed through third party payment processing services, and thus information that you submit through donation or other forms accessible through the Service (such as name, street address, phone number, e-mail, and payment information) will be transmitted to these third party processors. In addition, donor information may be shared with third party organizations that provide donor management services to TN. TN will be provided with and retain a copy of any such information provided through a donation or other form on the Service.

Public Areas. Any information that you voluntarily choose to include in a public or semi-public accessible area of the Service, such as a public profile page or in communications you may initiate or engage in through the Service, will be available to anyone who has access to that content, including other users.  We cannot control who reads your postings or what other users may do with the information you voluntarily post, so we encourage you to exercise discretion and caution with respect to your personal information.

Other Service Providers. TN may also disclose both personally identifiable and automatically collected information to third party businesses, organizations or persons to store or process such information on our behalf, to provide Service maintenance and security, to offer features on the Service and to assist us in improving the way the Service works and looks.

Universities and Research Organizations. TN may provide project data that you upload to the Service to universities or research institutions. This information will contribute to ongoing research. However, TN will only provide uploaded project data to these third parties; TN will not provide any personal data associated with the transferred project data.

Legal and Other Obligations. TN may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws (such as U.S. Copyright law) or in response to a court order, judicial or other government subpoena or warrant.

TN also reserves the right to disclose your information that we believe, in good faith, is appropriate or necessary to:

Acquisition of TN. In the event that all or a portion of TN or its assets is acquired by or merged with a third party entity, we reserve the right, in any of these circumstances, to transfer or assign the information that we have collected from you to such third party entity.

5. Do Not Track Disclosures

While some web browsers may transmit do-not-track (DNT) signals, we do not track users of the Service over time for targeted advertising. Thus, we currently do not respond to DNT signals.

However, our third party partners, such as Facebook and payment processing services, may collect information about you and your online activities over time and across the Service and other online properties. These third parties may not change their tracking practices in response to DNT settings in your web browser and we do not obligate these parties to honor DNT settings.

6. Links and References to Third Parties

The Service contains links to other websites and services provided by third parties. TN may also provide tools through the Service that enable you to export information, including User Content, to third party services, including through features that allow you to link your account on TN with an account on the third party service, such as Twitter or Facebook, or through our implementation of third party buttons (such as “like” or “share” buttons). By using these tools, you agree that we may transfer such information to the applicable third-party service.

Any information you provide directly on third party sites or services, or through tools allowing you to export information to such third party sites or services, is provided directly to that third party, and is subject to that third party’s policies governing privacy and security. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of these third party sites or services. We encourage you to learn about third parties’ privacy and security policies before providing them with personally identifiable information.

7. Commitment to Data Security

TN uses physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your personal information. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to TN, and you should not expect that your personal information or other data and communications will always remain secure. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors, may compromise the security of user information at any time.

If TN learns of a security systems breach, then we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps. TN may post a notice through the Service if a security breach occurs. Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to receive notice of a security breach in writing. To receive a free written notice of a security breach, you should notify us at info@thrivenetworks.org.

8. Commitment to Children’s Privacy

TN does not knowingly collect or maintain information from users under 13 years of age without parental consent. If you are under the age of 13, you should not use the Service, nor submit personally identifiable information to TN. If TN learns that personally identifiable information of persons under the age of 13 years has been collected without verifiable parental consent, then TN will take the appropriate steps to delete this information.

9. International Visitors

The Service is hosted in the United States and is intended for visitors located within the United States. If you nonetheless choose to access the Service from the European Union or other regions of the world with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, then please note that you are transferring your personally identifiable information outside of those regions to the United States and, by providing your personally identifiable information to TN, you consent to that transfer.

10. Privacy Policy Notices

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Use of information we collect is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is used by TN. If we make material changes in the way we use personally identifiable information, we will notify you by posting an announcement, sending you an email, or updating the Privacy Policy on the Service. You are encouraged to review the Privacy Policy from time to time in the event changes have been made. Your continued use of the Service constitutes your agreement to this Privacy Policy and any updates.
