WOBA project summary conference 2021

On December 21, East Meets West Foundation collaborated with Vietnam Women Union to successfully organize the “WOBA project summary conference in 2021 and capacity enhancement training for provincial partners”. Nearly 60 participants joined the conference directly and virtually from Da Nang, Ha Noi, Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Ben Tre.
At the conference, the results of WOBA project after 3 years of implementation and the recommendations were shared with all participants. Together, EMWF and all stakeholders discussed collective accomplishments and planned for the project solution to October 2022. To enhance capacity for provincial partners, the national expert trained on “Improving menstrual health and hygiene management” in this event.
This activity is under the framework of the Women-Led Output Based project, funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and implemented by East Meets West Foundation.

Transitioning from external funding to local government fund management
Under the support of the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through Water for Women Fund, East Meets West Foundation (EMWF) has launched the Community Led, Inclusive, Climate Resilient (CLICR) WASH project in 30 communes across 15 districts and 6 provinces in Cambodia from January 2023 to December 2024. One of the key objectives of this project is to enhance menstrual health and hygiene (MHH) for women and girls while promoting climate resilience.

A Stream of Change: Mrs. Pik’s Water Transformation
After collecting water for consumption and domestic use for more than 70 years, today Mrs. Pik, a 75-year-old widow living in Paklay District, Xayyabouly Province, can remove the heavy bamboo pole and water bucket from her shoulders. During a household visitation, she told East Meets West’s field staff.
