Allison Family Football Festival benefitting Embrace
Embrace, a program of Thrive Networks is humbled to receive support from generous individuals and organizations around the world. On Saturday, June 25, the 3rd Annual Allison Family Football Festival was held at New Broomfield Park, Airdrie, United Kingdom. The festival was sponsored by Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland Division) and organized by the company’s Technical Director, Iain Allison.
Four teams played, one team from Bellway Homes captained by Willie McDermott, two teams consisting of Airdrieonian’s supporters one captained by Keith Love the other by Scott McGuire and a team made up of Cumbernauld Colts coaches, captained by Dale Bateman. The Festival raised £565 to support Embrace programs to improve healthcare for low birth weight and premature babies in low-resource settings. Iain writes, “I had always wanted to do something for premature babies as I was born three months prematurely myself. I know had I not been lucky enough to receive first class medical care I would not have survived.”
At the heart of our programs are strong partnerships with government, private sector, civil society groups, and local communities. We also implement learning and feedback strategies to strengthen our approaches to promoting gender and socially inclusive WASH practices in our partner communities.
